25.08.2020 – BMW Team Italia defined the drivers’ lineup of the #7 BMW M6 GT3 for the second round of the Italian GT Championship Endurance scheduled for next August 30th at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola.

Thanks to the close collaboration of the team with BMW Motorsport, the BMW works driver Bruno Spengler (CAN) will compete next to Stefano Comandini (ITA) and Marius Zug (DEU) in a very strong PRO lineup.

The 37 years old Spengler is currently contesting the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in the new BMW M8 GTE. He has been one of the unquestionable protagonists of DTM until last year, the category in which he won the title in 2021 on a BMW M3 DTM.

As usual in Imola, the team will field also the #215 BMW M4 GT4 that will be driven by Francesco Guerra (ITA), Simone Riccitelli (ITA) and Nicola Neri (ITA).

The challenge for BMW Team Italia is going to be one of the most spectacular of the whole season due to the completeness of the circuit. The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari measures 4.909 meters and combines history with technique. After the start/finish line the Tamburello and Villeneuve chicanes proceed the Tosa corner. Drivers will then go uphill towards the Piratella and then down to the Acque Minerali. The Variante Alta proceeds the legendary Rivazza that virtually rejoins the main straight.

The racing action will kick off on Friday with two free practice sessions at local 12:10 and 17:30, while the third session will take place on Saturday at 12:00. Qualifying will take place on Saturday evening as the three sessions, one for each driver, will start at 18:30. The three hours race will start on Sunday at 15:50.

Qualifying and race will be available through the live streaming of the championship at www.acisport.it/CIGT, on Facebook @CIGranTurismo and on the page of the team @CeccatoMotorsRT. RAI Sport (CH 58 Free view) and MS Motor TV (CH 228 SKY) will also cover the event.
