29.09.2020 – The Italian GT Sprint Championship will resume this coming weekend from Mugello and BMW Team Italia is gearing up for another exciting chapter in the sporting season 2020.

The team managed by Ceccato Motors Racing Team will field the two official drivers’ pairings. Stefano Comandini (ITA) and Marius Zug (ITA) will compete in the #7 BMW M6 GT3, while Francesco Guerra (ITA) and Simone Riccitelli (ITA) will be in the #214 BMW M4 GT4. After the great debut in Misano, when BMW Team Italia won GT4, and came second overall with the BMW M6 GT3, the target is to confirm the same pace.

This is going to be the second exit at the International Circuit of Mugello for the team after the one valid for the Endurance Series, but this time around the schedule will be different with two free practice sessions on Friday at local 11:30 and 17:10 and the two qualifying sessions on Saturday at 11:50 and 12:15. The two 50 minutes + 1 lap long races will be on Saturday at 17:15 and on Sunday at 14:20.

The 5.245 meters of the circuit in Tuscany do not need any introduction. This internationally recognized venue is one of the most beautiful and complete in Italy. It is characterized by fast, driven corners and by the long pit straight. This spectacular mix is completed by the downhill Casanova-Savelli complex and the big braking point of the turn one, San Donato, that is the perfect spot for overtaking moves.

Roberto Ravaglia (BMW Team Italia, Team Manager):
“It is very important to get the most of this round in Mugello. This is a comeback for the Italian GT Sprint Championship after two months and a half and therefore things might have changed from where we left off in Misano. We know that Mugello traditionally favours BMW but this is not going to change our approach to the weekend. We will prepare the two races step by step with the usual work starting from free practice to allow our drivers to unleash their potential”.
